Attention Job Seeker, the Cuyahoga County Workforce Development Department specializes in bringing qualified job seekers and area employers together. Through Employment Connection , Cuyahoga County’s award winning One-Stop Center, we can help you strengthen and expand your skills or get the training you need to start a new career. Perhaps you’ve been laid off from a job and it’s taken longer than you expected to find work, or maybe you’re just rethinking your career and want a position that’s more satisfying. Whether you’ve worked for years or are just entering the workforce, Employment Connection and our Partners , have valuable resources that can assist you during your career transition, and all services are free of charge. Employment Connection Services are:

Self-Directed Services

The basic tools to aid you in your job search are available at all Employment Connection locations. There, in our Career Centers, we provide free Internet access to help you scan the most up to date jobs in Northeast Ohio. You can refer to our most recent job postings and gather information from our many employment guides and latest labor market information. Our staff is available to help you develop your networking skills. They can also assist you in preparing your resume so that employers will readily see the skills and experience you have to offer and we can help you post your resume on-line for greater exposure. Free telephone, fax, copiers, computers and printers are also available.

Job Search and Placement Assistance

Do you need a little more help? Meet our Career Managers! Should you find yourself in need of some additional help in your job search, our expert Career Managers will be happy to meet with you one-on-one. They can provide you with the following specialized assistance to ensure your success in finding a job that’s right for you!

Workshops

Employment Connections offers a variety of workshops to help you enhance you job seeking skills so you can get the best job for you. Please check our calendar or call 216-898-1366 for specific dates and times.

The following workshop is available to all job seekers:

  • Orientation : To get started come in for an Orientation session and learn about our programs and services designed to help maximize your job search. Career Managers will be available to assist you.

Some workshops have eligibility requirements and may require registration.

Training

Train for the job that suits you! If you need training to obtain employment, we can work with you to identify a school or training program from our list of our Approved Training Providers or other accredited program. You can get training that will prepare you for a job that’s in demand and that you'll enjoy and will enable you to better support yourself and your family. We can help you apply for financial assistance and in some cases, we can provide the training at no cost. Sign up today by calling the Employment Connection.
